Dual Degree Programs
Six dual-degree programs enable CHASS students to combine scientific or professional study with a focus in the humanities or social sciences. Through successful completion of these programs, students earn two undergraduate degrees, one in CHASS and the second in one of NC State's other Colleges. - Thomas Jefferson Scholars (CHASS and the College of Agriculture)
Thomas Jefferson Scholars at NC State University is a dual degree program between the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHASS). The program prepares students to become scientists and professionals with multidisciplinary knowledge, and an educated awareness of cultural, social and philosophical concerns and values touched by modern life sciences.
- Benjamin Franklin Scholars (CHASS and the College of Engineering)
Benjamin Franklin Scholars at NC State University is a dual degree program between the College of Engineering and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHASS). Students completing the program receive a Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline or computer science and a bachelor’s degree in humanities or social sciences. The program provides students with a unique opportunity to integrate a solid base of knowledge in technology or science with a broad humanistic and social perspective.
- Alexander Hamilton Scholars (CHASS and the College of Management)
Alexander Hamilton Scholars at NC State University is a dual degree program between the Poole College of Management and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHASS). Hamilton Scholars complete a major in accounting, business administration, or economics within the College of Management, and they pursue an additional Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies within the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Hamilton Scholars are a select group of highly motivated students who aspire to become well rounded business professionals, knowledgeable about international issues, and with skills to function successfully in cross-cultural settings.
