B.A. Requirements
To obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies students are required to complete at least 30 semester hours of coursework. Furthermore, it is required that at least 15 of these credit hours must be completed in upper-level course work.
Distribution of Courses (Total of 30 cr)
- International Studies Foundation Course (1): 3 cr
- Area Studies OR Thematic Emphasis Courses (5): 15 cr
- Advised Electives (2): 6 cr
- Advanced Foreign Language Course (1): 3 cr
- Senior Seminar: 3 cr
Study Abroad is required for all IS majors, and credits earned on Study Abroad programs will be evaluated, and where appropriate, counted towards graduation. For a Study Abroad program to be acceptable for the requirements of this major, it must provide the student with AT LEAST 6 credit hours. The Director of International Studies will work with students to help them obtain financial aid and scholarships to fund their study abroad experience.
