Photo of Tyler

As a Park Scholar at N.C. State, Tyler graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. Throughout his time at N.C. State he was a member of the University Scholars Program, Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity, International Business Club, and NCSU Ducks Unlimited. In the summer of 2008, Tyler studied abroad in Hangzhou, China, studying international business, Chinese language, and international relations. After graduation he will pursue a career in international business.

Photo of Jorge

Jorge transferred to NC State University as an international student coming from the Complutense University of Madrid in Spain where he was studying Law. In his search for a more global education, Jorge decided to enroll in the International Studies program at NC State. Jorge’s interest in social change and the social aspect of globalization drove him to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies with a concentration in International Relations and a Minor in Nonprofit Studies. During his time at NC State Jorge got involved in the community serving as volunteer and intern at the American Red Cross, Generation Engage and USCRI (U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants). At NC State, Jorge contributed to the foundation and development of the NC State International Studies Club and became a member of Sigma Iota Rho (the Honor Society for International Studies). After graduation, Jorge would like to work for an international nonprofit organization where he can contribute with his skills, experience and international perspective.

Photo of Sara

Sara is graduating with degrees in Textiles and Apparel Management as well as International Studies. She has had many experiences on campus as well as abroad. As an undergraduate, she was a member of the Caldwell Fellows and University Scholars program. She also served in the Student Senate and the Student Centers Board of Directors President. Sara is a member of Kappa Tau Beta, the Textiles Leadership Fraternity, and is also a member of the Order of 30 &3. She also worked with the Women's Center to create "Behind the Veil", a project in which non-Muslim women experienced wearing the Islamic hijab for a day, and reflected upon the experience. During her third year, she was part of a student delegation to Mexico, in which she learned about their trade relationship with North Carolina. She had the opportunity to visit trade shows and meet with government representatives.  She also studied abroad for a semester in Manchester at Manchester Metropolitan University. While in Manchester, she interned with the Northwest Branch of the British American Business Council. During the summer of 2007, she participated in the American Institute for Political and Economic Systems in Prague through the Fund for American Studies, and took politics and economics courses with students from former Soviet Republics. As a senior, she was one of the recipients of the Mathews Medal, the highest non-academic honor given to an undergraduate student. The medal is given to students who make on impact on NCSU's campus, and show a commitment to maintaining a relationship even after graduating. Following graduation, she was selected participate in the AC21 Student World Forum at the Chemnitz University of Technology in Chemnitz, Germany. Next year she will return to the United Kingdom to study in a MSc in Gender, Development, and Globalisation at the London School of Economics.

Photo of Jeremy

Jeremy majored in International Politics and International Studies with a concentration in South Asia and the Middle East. During his four years at NC State he traveled to the Middle East twice, including once on a U.S. Department of State Critical Language Scholarship. He graduated Summa Cum Laude and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa his senior year. He plans to move to the Middle East where he will continue to learn Arabic and get involved with humanitarian work.

As a Hamilton Scholar Jenna double majored in International Studies with a concentration in Europe and Accounting with a Financial Analysis Concentration. During her undergrad studies, she was a member of the NCSU dance team, and was captain of her senior year. She studied abroad in Aix-En-Provence, France to study international marketing. She also had the opportunity to study abroad in Sevilla, Spain to take advanced Spanish courses in popular culture and business. After graduation Jenna will be pursuing her Masters in Accounting here at NC State through the Jenkins Graduate School of Management.
