Accelerated Bachelor's/Master's Program
The Accelerated Bachelor’s/Master’s (ABM) degree program gives exceptional undergraduate students from any major across NC State University an opportunity to earn both a bachelor’s and master’s degree at an accelerated pace.
MALS allows you to combine courses in different disciplines from across the university to create a specialized concentration: your bachelor’s degree can be in any major. We set guidelines, but you have great flexibility in building a unique concentration based on your academic interests and professional aspirations. The ABM program allows 12 graduate credit hours to be double-counted for both the bachelor's and master's degrees; 18 graduate credit hours must be earned for the master's degree only.
The MALS program requirements consist of three parts:
Interdisciplinary Methods (9 hours)
Concentration (18 hours)
Final Project (3 hours)
Criteria needed to apply:
- At least 75 credit hours completed in your undergraduate program
- A GPA of at least 3.5
If you believe you might qualify, contact MALS director Dr. Michael Garval for more information.
How to apply to the MALS ABM Program:
- Meet with the MALS director during your junior year (or after 75 completed credit hours).
- Meet with your undergraduate program director and MALS director to plan your ABM track.
