Graduate Minor in Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies

Graduate students must complete nine credit hours with a grade of B or better in each course. Because the minor is an interdisciplinary one, at least one of the courses needs to be in a field different from that of the graduate program in which the student is enrolled.

All courses must be taught by women’s and gender studies affiliated faculty. An affiliated faculty member (not in the field of the degree graduate program) must sit on the master’s or dissertation committee.

Note: Special topics courses in a variety of disciplines are offered each semester and may be taken with the approval of the WGS program director.

Admission

Download the application for the graduate minor and fill out the required information at the top of the form. Contact the WGS director to obtain her/his signature.

The WGS Director will periodically contact the student to update the form and will submit the form to the student’s home department and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences when the requirements are met.
