Seth Murray Attends UGPN Conference in Surrey, England

The Belltower. Bell tower.

Seth Murray, director of undergraduate programs in IDS-IAP, attended the University Global Partner Network (UGPN) in Guilford, England, from May 13-15, 2024. This meeting assembled faculty and staff representatives from NC State, the University of Surrey and the Universidade de São Paolo in Brazil to discuss ongoing research collaborations and teaching initiatives, as well as to shape and strengthen our joint commitment to this year’s emphasis on sustainability.

Christopher Galik, Deanna Dannels and Seth Murray.

Murray accompanied the Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Deanna Dannels, as well as Christopher Galik, professor of public administration and director of NC State’s Sustainable Future Initiatives. Murray and Galik previously collaborated on creating a course inventory of all NC State undergraduate and graduate classes that are connected to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Faculty from NC State shared with UGPN representatives what they had also accomplished in terms of research productivity, global reputation and rankings, and economic impact related to the SDGs in the state of North Carolina. NC State will host the UGPN meeting in Raleigh in 2025.
