Sabrina Hurtado Named Fall 2022 Patterson Fellow

Sabrina Hurtado

Our Fall 2022 Bob Patterson Interdisciplinary Studies Fellow, Sabrina Hurtado, graduated in summer 2022 with a bachelor’s in Arts Studies, with a concentration in Visual Arts, and also earned a minor in Arts Entrepreneurship. She was a Caldwell Fellow (a program focused on service and leadership) and part of the University Honors Program. She was co-founder and president of the University’s Arts Club. Following her graduation, Sabrina became the Manager of Teen and College Programs at the North Carolina Museum of Art.

According to the faculty member who recommended her for the award, “Sabrina is energetic, empathic, creative, offers her skills and service freely, across many contexts, and does it all with exceptional poise and generosity. As the first person in her family to attend university, she arrived ready to engage at NC State. Her family and Latinx heritage provide a foundation for her diverse and interdisciplinary research in both her individual and community work.”

Sabrina was also selected by the Interdisciplinary Studies Faculty Council to serve as the student speaker at the Fall 2022 IDS Graduation Ceremony.
