Laban Coblentz: from the Amish to the Atomic Bomb
Laban Coblentz studied nuclear propulsion engineering in the US Navy and also holds an MA in English. He is fascinated "by the power of curiosity, the power of innovation, and the power of narrative." The former adviser to the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency and current entrepreneur, writer, educator and international civil servant will visit NC State on October 17 - 18 as a guest of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and its School of Public and International Affairs. He'll give a public talk, meet with graduate and undergraduate students to discus careers in international service, guest lecture in a U.S. Foreign Policy class, and confer with faculty engaged in interdisciplinary science and technology policy.
